Chemdog

Chemdog is quite a popular strain and for some odd reason this is the first time I am ever smoking it! Coming from two very well known strains Sour Diesel and OG Kush, this comes with quite potent ‘diesel-esque’ smell and a very potent hitting high.  I have found only a select few strains can be suitable for both daytime and night time, but here is one of them. This high aids in clearing of your head and melts away all pain and/or anxiety you might be feeling. So a great night time strain to relax and unwind after that busy day.  Smoke too much you might find yourself glued to the couch, but smoke just the right amount and this can also pose as a fantastic day time strain. I have found only a select few strains can be suitable for both day and night time, but here is one of them. First off the pain and nausea relieving qualities are great for anytime of the day! With chemdog you will feel the rush of creativity, (if you are not a creative person WHO CARE give it a shot) take a hit and write down whatever comes to mind or grab a paint brush, pencil, pen, crayon, whatever and let that creativity manifest into something. You might just surprise yourself! Smoked in the right amount, chemdog will give you the energy you need to focus on this creative project or just the energy you need to make it through the day. (If you’re looking for purely just energy out of a strain I might suggest checking out the article on Greek Crack).

I even supercharged it with some citrine, maybe these creative projects I am working on will manifest into something filled with abundance in all forms 🙂 DSC00962.JPG

Black Jack

This particular strain was gifted to a beautiful stranger met at a ganja yoga class. *A quick backstory: I had recently been smoking this strain and just so happened to run out the morning of class. After class some fellow yogis and I were smoking, he shared his bud and it was delicious. When asked he told us he grew it. I had shared the synchronicity that, that morning I ran out of black Jack. He looked at me and handed me about an eighth of his weed. And that was it* So I was very excited to smoke this new gift and it was actually better then the black jack I had gotten from the club. Yes it is a sativa dominant so of course I love it. I love this strain because it makes me want to move. My mental state is rather calm, yet alert. But my body just wants to open, AKA the perfect strain before a yoga class. I was so easily able to turn down my mind and turn up my body with this strain. It gave me the alertness to be attentive to what my body wanted/needed. I have smoked this before a rather vigorous hot vinyasa class and, all the way to the opposite end, a very slow yin class. Either way you go, your mind and body will thank you. So if you’re too much in your mind and not enough in your body, give this strain a try. It truly is magnificent.

Insider tip: Prior to a vinyasa class, take a few hits of Black Jack and a few sips of some yerba mate and you will be transported to Venus and back during the class. LRG_DSC01171.JPG

Banana OG

This was a strain that I had tried years ago and was like WTF. That shit was good. But then I couldn’t find it and found sativas instead, so I forgot about this beautiful strain for a while. Until last week and angel stoner friend of mine gifted me an eighth of this PRISTINE banana OG. So you know I was pumped. Technically this is a hybrid, but it feels a little more indica dominant in my personal opinion. It leaves you quite relaxed throughout the entire body, inducing the idea of staying in bed all day. But it doesn’t let your mind fall too deep into that same trance, so it can lead to some very introspective moments. Still, introspective moments. Which I personally find beautiful for mediation. It relaxes my body and mind, but doesn’t relax my mind too much so I am still present and aware.

Green Crack

Alright, well it is no secret if you have read some other strain reviews on here, I love my sativas. Green crack has got to be one of my favorite sativas for that real coffee-like jolt. My body isn’t the biggest fan of caffeine, so this is a very handy strain for me, especially on those early mornings. You will feel this just after one or two puffs. The cerebral invigoration will leave your imagination running wild, but in the most beautiful way. It  is also great for the days when you’re feeling a little on the lower side, the uplifting effects will bring your mood and energy up. Also great for those in need of a little motivation, you know the days when you just don’t want to get out of bed. One or two hits of this will have your ass in the kitchen whipping up some chocolate chip pancakes and then out the door to enjoy the day! Anyways this is just one of my go to strains for when I need a little pick me up. I always try to keep a little on hand, for when needed.

Grape Ape

Grape Ape, a cross between Medocino Purps, Afghani, and Skunk, you will forsure get the classic indica high. This strain is a creeper, so take your time, enjoy the high and wait a little bit after the first hit (or bowl) to truly feel the magnificence of the strain. Once it starts to kick in, your will feel a rush of relaxation and begin to chill tf out. One thing I noticed about this was my mind didn’t get the usual fog that comes with an indica high. My mind was at an ‘in the clouds’ kind of clear, I was able to form some really great (really high) thoughts and found myself writing some magnificent things. Which came as a surprise to me because with most indicas I feel my mind begin to slip away. Great for someone who struggles with anxiety, calming the mind yet still keeping it clear enough to function throughout the day. After smoking a bowl or two, my body came into a complete relaxation mode -> leading to some AMAZING sleep. Perfect indica if you want to relax the mind and body, but not be completely disconnected from reality. Not to mention the AMAZING grape aroma flooding your senses from the second you open the package. DSC00895.JPG
